While we were in Texas, we decided to take a day trip from San Antonio down to Magnolia Beach in Port Lavaca. We borrowed a van from Piper's parents and took a round trip route through Corpus Christi, stopped to check out Rockport and then drove the long and quiet road to Port Lavaca.
We have always dreamed of downsizing from our 34 foot Fleetwood Bounder into something smaller, and our time in the van made us want to get one of our own! Having a van for day trips and more adventurous drives is now a big goal for us, but we will definitely keep traveling and living in our current RV. We think that adding a van would be the perfect first addition to what we now think of as our future tiny home fleet — an RV, a van and a boat!
The round trip was about 6 1/2 hours! But it was all worth it when we rolled onto Magnolia Beach. This was the moment that we realized that we are no longer just dreaming of the RV lifestyle — we are LIVING it!
Please enjoy this video of our Van Trip to Magnolia Beach! We had a wonderful day checking out the Texas Coast, and we can't wait to visit again, this time for a long stay with the Bounder! Thanks for stopping by, and we'll catch you in the next one!
