The Mimosa Trail at Medina Lake RV Campground | Thousand Trails

The Mimosa Trail is the best kept secret at the Thousand Trails Medina Lake RV Campground in Lakehills, Texas! Located just outside of San Antonio, this campground has become one of our favorite stays during the winter season. We spent many wonderful days enjoying lakefront camping, grilling, kayaking, and hiking the well hidden Mimosa Trail.

After hunting for trails to hike within the Medina Lake RV Campground, even the staff at the front desk didn't have much information about any trails on the property. The map that came with our welcome kit showed a short circular trail — which is a nice short stroll — but we had heard there was one that would lead all the way from the office down to the lakefront.

With a staff that hadn't even walked it themselves, it was no wonder that the Mimosa Trail has remained a favorite of the full-time annual campers who (rumor has it) created and maintain the trail themselves. We set out on an adventure to find the full length local secret for ourselves, and what we found became one of our favorite features of the entire campground.

In this video, follow along as we show you the way through this two mile trail, starting near the park entrance, all the way down to the lake.

So far, we are thrilled with our Thousand Trails membership, and we encourage any RVers to take advantage of this program. We have saved so much money on camping already!

If you'd like to become a Thousand Trails member, we will hook you up with our personal membership specialist, Brenda. You can always get your membership through their website, but our friend Brenda can answer all of your questions about Thousand Trails, and get you special deals on your camping pass.
